The third European forum of digital printing on textile took place October the 24th and 25th in Mulhouse. This event, semi-conference, semi-exhibition, succeeded in proving that the production in digital printing will be soon a reality, thus upsetting the picture of a confidential or a sampling tool gave him too readily.
"Manufacturing today", such was the set of themes of the third forum to textile digital printing on textile, Numtex, in Mulhouse on October the 24th, and 25th 2002.
Supported by the « Pôle Textile d’Alsace » and organized by l’IFTH (Institut Français Textile Habillement), in partnership with l’ENSITM (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Industries Textiles de Mulhouse) and the Museum of Printing on Fabrics, this forum joined together nearly 500 people coming from 20 countries, with the participation of 26 exhibitors of machines and software, thus representing the main worldwide companies in this field.
This third edition of Numtex was marked by a series of world and european first which shows with force the evolution of this new technology. More than ever is digital printing on the way to revolutionize the textile printing industry. From now on, it is allowed to imagine that this technology is not exclusively reserved for sampling, but she is now able to produce small ones and great series of printed fabrics.
The way traversed since the first session in the buildings of the Commerce Chamber of Mulhouse two years ago is considerable, as much in the progress of the materials that in that of the forum itself, which passed to a statute of reference for digital printing on textile.
The target of a european dimension was reached, and even went well beyond, since visitors and exhibitors from France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, Scotland, United Kingdom, Austria, Slovenia, Finland, Hungary, Spain, or Denmark, but also of the United States, Australia, China, Russia, Algeria, and Japan.
