The NUMTEX platform for digital textile printing was also presented. Set up by the Pôle Textile Alsace with funding from Europe, the Alsace Region and the Haut-Rhin Department, but also with support from hardware and software manufacturers (total investment worth 300,000 Euros): in an area measuring 250 square metres, one room is dedicated to digital printing (4 machines, one transfer press) while the other specialises in image processing and training (4 workstations, 4 different DAO programmes), plus all the adjoining facilities. This tool still helps companies to learn and try digital printing on their own products, and sometimes to invest in this technology.
This project is also very well received because it is totally unique in Europe. It is now fully operational. It works on service contracts being implemented, and also welcomes students in textiles and fine arts from three countries (Mulhouse, Lucerne and Fribourg).
This will reinforce the presence of NUMTEX in its reference market and make the NUMTEX fair a year-round event.
